Good 1st experience
It's not stated in the description but these are from the "Trek-Lite" range and indeed they are very light, weighing in at just 484 gms a boot.

The sole is fairly narrow, which I suspect also helps reduce the weight, and would assume be a good fit for anyone with narrow feet (as I have).

Today I tried them on an 8 mile hike and they performed faultlessly with no signs of any approaching discomfort which might show on a longer hike.

Definitely recommended.

not durable or lasting
These were my second pair of this style with the spongy layer between sole and feet, others were karrimors, and both have barely lasted 3 months before the soles started come away very quickly from the shues on both boots. They were only used for some light walking in both cases.

I found these boots were initially harder and stiffer than usual but ended up quite comfortable fairly quickly, waterproof and warm but not sweaty plus good chuncky laces. One thing I prefer about hitecs is they seem to give more toe room so you can wiggle your toes a little, feel a better fit to my feet where most others are too narrow and cramp toes even when trying larger sizes.

Hiking/walking boots (or any shues should do better than this) though i expect a level of durability and these and the karrimors have been shameful.
