Wearing the boots across moorland is absolutely magic although ankle support is minimal, again this is what you are trying to achieve so that the ankle joint is working rather than a more supportive boot allowing the ankle to switch off, with regular use the idea being to increase your proprioception & stability making you stronger as a result! The grip was outstanding on soft ground, no problems on most man made surfaces although i did find them...
