This edition includes Guidance Line, a flex groove which runs along the entire outsole that encourages a more efficient running gait. Extremely comfortable
I've had other Asics and Mizuno trainers in the past, but always cheaper models. This is the first time I have stepped up to this price range for running shoes and I am glad I did. These are great for road use, and seem fine for light trails too. The double-heel system looks strange at first, but it feels so natural to me, fitting snug and supportively without ever feeling tight.

Five stars for now, I just hope that the sole wear and the toe box mesh hold up for a decent number of miles since I cannot afford to replace these too often.

For those that care about shoe weights - I bought these in Men's UK Size 10, and weighed them at 337g each. The Asics DS Racer 9 also in UK Size 10, weighed 245g each.

Light and fast
Early this year I was looking for lighter running shoes but still with good absorption and support. I'm a pronator and my knees surfer from this condition.

The ASICS DS-TRAINER 17 are the best running shoes I've ever had. Design is flawless (very sleek), very light, extremely comfortable. I've made some runs in very tough shock conditions and my knees did not complaint at all. I manage to take around 25 sec per km at 5-8 km competition with this shoe.

Definitely recommended.

Still best shoe
Yes this shoe is still a fantastic runner for all distances from 5K to marathon. Cant speak for the marathon race as I havent run one. But for half marathon they were superb. Only diference between this model and the previous ones is the colour. I loved the orange though but these are less loud and may appeal to more people. But a great shoe from training to racing. They are most comfortable trainer I have ever worn. On my third pair so enough said. Very hard wearing aswell and for the price excellent value for money. Just buy and try and keep on running.

Perfect for low-mid mileage.
Great lightweight all-rounder for training/racing anywhere up to 1/2 marathon distance and possibly beyond.

Hut shoes
Walking one of the high trails in Austria from hut to hut I needed something lightweight but able to be worn outside as well. These were ideal. Super lightweight and yet comfortable and well-fitting. Excellent product. Will definitely buy Inov 8 again.

Light, comfortable but not for much more than loafin'
A funny looking [in a good way] shoe that relies on stretchy fabric to flex enough to let your foot in and then grip - with a mildly useful draw string tensioner to provide a bit more tightness once on. This draw string then dangles / trails on ground somewhat unless you tuck it out of the way. Very comfortable and light but with enough substance to the sole to deal with mild off road surfaces - but no meaningful ankle support to make it suitable for serious activity. I use them before and after a day's walking - especially after where their comfort / lightness and breathability [plenty of vents] are a boon.
