Freakin' Awesome Shoe!
After months of reading up on minmalist running i finally decided to take the plunge with the Brooks PureProject to see if it would reduce running times and injuries.

This is a very light, very flexible and VERY comfortable shoe. I have freakishly wide feet and the PureDrift fit me perfectly. The nav band and integrated tongue hug my foot nicely when running and it looks pretty awesome!

So far I have only run with the 4mm insole in but will be looking to go zero drop when i get my body a bit more used to the minimalist style. Happy to say I've experienced no injuries and effortlessly shaved up to 30secs per mile off some of my PBs. Thank you Brooks for another awesome shoe!

I pal of mine who is a top S&C coach recommended these a while ago. All I can say is, I should of got a pair sooner - they are great for training in, be it lifting heavy weights, or doing cardio. I don't expect them to last that long, but with the level of feel involved (and support despite the minimal design) they are worth the investment.
It's also worth noting that these come up half a size too small (as is the case with all NB shoes in my experience), so you need to order half a size bigger than you normally would (i.e., if you're a UK 11, order UK 11.5).

Previous reviews on sizing
Not a full review of the shoe as I'm awaiting an exchange because of sizing. I read a lot of reviews on this product because there are no local retailers that stock this brand and wanted to get the fit right first time.

The recommendations I read where to go a size down. So I looked for a good price, an offer on Amazon was the best (Millet Sports). I confidently ordered a size UK8 (Euro42), same as a previous reviewer on this site as I have the same size UK9.

Well I was disappointed to say the least when I opened the box, I could tell they were too small straight away. Tried them on... and you guest it... too small. I could see they were a high quality product though and have since ordered a size UK10! This is because there are no halve sizes. The UK9 would fit me, but for running, ideally you need about a thumbs width of room from your longest toe to the end of the shoe.

I can't see how anybody could order a size down. For me at least, these shoes are...

best shoes for me to run in
I already had a pair of these bought from a store in real life so knew what to expect.

I'm fascinated by barefoot running but every time I try it (even for 100 yards, whether in barefoot or Vibrams) I start getting some kind of plantar fasciitis pain, like sharp pin pricks stabbing the underside of my foot. This also carries over if I run too long (even less than a mile) in normal running shoes.

However these, with plenty of calf stretching, have allowed me to run with no worries or pain at all. They are a bit odd to get used to, since the heel does drop a bit, encouraging you to land mid-foot. I'm not saying they are a cure, but they have allowed me to run a couple of miles a couple of times a week with no pain. I got the coral ones from Amazon and the grey ones from a high street store (they were cheaper in Amazon).

They say you can go sockless in them too, and I have tried this - it is surprising comfortable, although I probably won't do that...

Great running shoes
These are sooo comfortable and light. Much admired for their style but are also brilliant running shoes. Would recommend. I needed a size smaller as toe box is large.
