A breath of fresh air
I was really reluctant to plunge into the world of running shoes but as I don't possess any trainers and had started running in light walking boots, the bullet had to be bitten. I was so pleased to come across Brooks Green Silence which have both an ethical edge (environmental rather than place of manufacture) and don't offend my eye too much (I got the greeny-brown ones). Given that I was buying mail order I was pleased to find the sizing is pretty accurate. I am normally round about a 41-42, with a broad fit so ordered a size 8. They have asymmetric lacing.

They are minimalist but seem to be cushioning enough (I am not yet running on roads, I use these on forest tracks and woodland paths and rides) and have made my running sessions several orders of magnitude easier. I am very much a novice but I checked out reviews of Brooks Green Silence by serious runners and they seemed to give it the thumbs up too.

What a fine pair of shoes. I have worn them jogging and in large variety of fitness classes... I have not a single word of criticism to say. Light, comfortable, designed with perfection to every detail, unique, durable and unusual colours.Sizing accurate. Being environmentally friendly is a big bonus too.
