Great value waterproof all rounders
I was looking for some good value 'multi-activity' footwear to replace a trusty old pair of Berghaus hiking shoes. I tried to replace them with some more upmarket Salomon Exit Aeros which turned out to be pretty useless for the UK as their non-waterproof, breathable mesh design just let water in and left your feet soaking even if you were just walking through wet grass!

I then tried some cheapo Mountain Warehouse "Curlew" waterproof ones - which may have been waterproof, but around the house basically stewed your feet in sweat - breathable they were not! The fit was also terrible - heel slopping all over the place.

These seem to get the right balance of price / performance for me. "Event" waterproofing is definitely very waterproof (so far after 3 months) - you can stand in a puddle with the water over the top of the toe box and it doesn't come in. But it's also really breathable and they're comfy and light.

Not done any serious hiking in them - I just...
