Comfy straight out of the box
Received these yesterday and went for a 5 miler in them this morning. LOVE them!

Really comfy, they do fit like a glove, very 'hugging'. I got my normal size as a few reviews said they were long in the toe and they are just right. I would suggest going for the larger size if you are between two sizes.

I usually run in zem gear shoes, about as close as you can get to barefoot running. These merrels still allow me to run properly, with a natural forefoot strike, but have a thick enough sole to protect from stones. Great for very rough terrain and longer runs but I will be sticking to my other shoes when I can as I like to be able to feel the ground.

The reason I didn't give 5 stars is that these shoes have good arch support. Not uncomfortable, but it did feel wierd arter running without andy for so long. I think a minimalist/barefoot running shoe should allow your foot to support itself naturally.

But still, very comfy, no rubbing, blisters or...

I have to say that I definitely made the right choice. I found these shoes incredibly comfortable. The first few times I went running in them I had some ache in my calf muscles, I guessed from the change over in shoe type, but after that perfect!
