Product description New Balance Men's Blue/Silver Trainer MR00BS 6.5 UK, 40 EU, 7 US

The Barefoot design of the MR00 offers runners a super-lightweight, reflexive running shoe that allows them to take control of the road, feeling every step and running as nature intended. Designed for the experienced neutral runner, the MR00 features a VIBRAM outsole, which is extremely durable and provides grip only where necessary to reduce weight. The ZERO-DROP differential means that there no difference in height between heel and forefoot leaving only you and the terrain which allows the runner to run completely free. The upper is also of minimal construction, its seamless no-sew manufacture features synthetic overlays which improve the fit, feel, comfort, breathability and overall performance of the shoe.

  • VIBRAM® - Outsole designed for lightweight traction and great durability
  • Zero Drop - Zero height difference between heel and forefoot, ideal for the neutral runner who wants to take control of the road.
  • Odor-Resistant - Treated material which prevents odors from breeding, without or without socks.
  • Lightweight Upper - Mesh Upper with synthetic reinforcement provides increased breathability and speed.
  • REVlite Midsole - Minimal midsole, superbly lightweight, provides great flexibility and a featherweight cushion touch to the ground.

Running as nature intended
Having used a pair of Minimus MR10s for the last year or so the MR00 represented the next step in my transition to barefoot running as there is a zero drop from heel to toe. They look and feel great, even without socks on, and are incredibly light. I went for 10 miles in them yesterday in wet conditions with no discomfort.

Although the toe box is wide to allow your toes to spread out you may need to go up half a size as I did for length because I had experienced blisters on the end of my toes with my MR10s. I have had no such problems with my new shoes which I will be wearing for all my long runs and races from now on.

One word of caution - the transition to barefoot running should be a gradual one, with no more than 10 per cent of your weekly mileage in barefoot shoes to begin with. Literally running barefoot on grass for short runs, during warm ups or while cooling down can be helpful too. There is plenty of advice online on exercises to strengthen your feet...

Great running trainers.
Completely agree with the other reviewer (Shoddy). Have been using the Minimus 10's for the past year an have now switched to the MR00's. Even going from a 3mm drop to a zero drop made a lot of difference so just started off with a 3.11 mile run. Felt fine so now have done 4.55 miles. I cannot recommend these shoes enough. They're very comfortable, give great ground feel and are very light. I tend to wear them with socks due to the weather getting colder now but I would imagine they would be fine barefoot. I have a pair of New Balance MT00's which I wear barefoot and they give me no discomfort what so ever.
You can't go wrong with these trainers but as Shoddy states you need to give a lot of time to transition properly. I just gradually built up my mileage with the Minimus 10's over a year or so concentrating more on form than speed.
