Superb shoe from a quality manufacturer
I wanted a pair of walking boots that were durable enough to wear for serious hiking, yet also trendy enough to wear out. These boots give you both, as well as being very comfortable. I have been buying Merrell shoes for over 15 years and wasn't disappointed in the slightest. Top marks!!!

Great shoes
I bought these mainly for pounding the pavement and everyday use. For that they are perfect - very comfortable and quite stylish. I'm not so sure they are the best choice for winter hiking though - although marked as waterproof, they are not Gore-Tex lined and probably wouldn't hold out standing in deep water (or sustained walking in long wet grass as other reviewers have noted).

As for sizing, I am an 11 but bought a 12 and they fitted perfectly. I've had several pairs of Merrell's over the years and I always need one size higher and it was no different with these.

My initial impressions about the shoe are positive. It is a well balanced light shoe and the design is good and it appears sturdy. The colour choice blend is understated and the toe protector is a useful part of this shoe.It hugs the foot nicely. It is a bit of a shame that for a shoe that is priced @MRP of Pounds 100/- ( I bought it for around 83 thanks to Amazon) attention has not been paid to the leather rubber interphase with the frayed edges showing. This finish could have been certainly improved. Overall a nice design and a comfortable shoe.The Gortex lining would improve the breathing of the foot and I find the Ortholite design of the insole to be very comfortable. I would recommend it as a purchase.

Nice looking trainers, however had to return them because 2nd time worn ,toe part of rubber sole wasn't glued properly and peeled open exposing what looked like talcum powder inside.Glue doesn't stick to talc.Got a full refund though without any hassle.

Don't buy
Boots have Vibram soles which are supposed to be hardwearing but these have worn unevenly very quickly. They lasted a couple of months before they leak as soon as it rains. Warranty is worthless.
