Comfortable and supportive
I am having problems with my feet as a grow older. These were bought to replace my twenty-year old Zamberlans. They are very light and comfortable but have sufficient ankle support. So far they have proved to be waterproof. The grip is fine with the right balance between flexibility and safety. Good Shoe / Poor lace system
This is my second pair of Salomon trail shoes.... the first being very good. This second pair are equally fine, however, be aware of Salomon's 'Quick-lace-system' - it doesn't always work... On the right shoe of the XA Pro 3D shoe it will not stay tight.... after only a few hundred yards the thing loosens off... very frustrating. Have contacted the supplier (SportsShoes) re the issue.... still waiting for response / outcome

Looks like a womens shoe
On arrival the leather had an almost pinkish hue. These are probably nice trainers to wear but the styling ruled them out for me immediately.

If they'd been in her size, my fiancee would have nabbed them though!

Excellent hiking shoes
Firstly, with any shoes you need to be careful. These are actually an odd sizing. So, they seem to be sized around 2 sizes bigger or something like that. But, I am cautious as my other North Face which are 10 fit like an 8.5/9, I am 8.5 so fine. These I brought a smaller size (7.5) and they seem 9. Compared to my other North Face sandals 8.5 they are two sizes bigger all seems very odd. I think I have just been lucky that they all fit. Well, I would have sent them back if they didn't.

Anyway, the boots are solid and ideal for long hikes and also the uphill climbs. Very robust boots and snug, they fit perfectly considering I am a 8.5/9. You can abuse these boots and they will still come out fine. I didn't have to break into them, they were a good fit first time round. Thy are heavy, but very strong.

Good walking boots, but not designed for speed hiking. More for careful uphill climbing, the grip is built more for uphill rough terrain climbing and I've...

Great Purchase
I bought these boots as I was planning 2 weeks of walking in the Dartmoor National Park and in Cornwall. I didnt walk them in beforehand and they were still absolutley perfect. Great shoe - watch the sizing
This is an excellent shoe. Really comfortable and well made.

The only thing to watch for is the sizing. I am a size 9 normally but I had to get size 9.5 in the Merrell shoe. Some posts here said they were a size 9 but had to order size 11. I couldn't quite believe that but ordering at least a 0.5 size above would be advisable.

Apart from that you'll be able to walk in these all day and your feet will still feel good.

MERRELL MOAB GORE-TEX TRAINERS
I first bought a pair of these trainers back in 2010 and found them to be very well made and comfortable to wear even after a long walk. So I have just purchased another pair. I guess you get what you pay for but they do seem to be good value for money. The only thing I would add is always buy a full size up and not a half size from you current shoe size and you will find they fit like a glove plus allowing you to wear a thicker pair of socks.

Love them! They're really comfortable and supportive, even for wearing on a day to day basis. The sole can get a bit slippy when wet though! I have slightly flat feet and they are by far the most supportive trainer I've owned to date.

Great trail trainers
Arrived earlier than expected and in perfect condition. I really like these trainers - I had an extreme race the week after they arrived through streams and rivers and they managed to keep my feet reasonably dry. Also did half marathon today on roads and they fared very well with no problems at all. Would recommend, about my fifth pair of Brooks trainers!
